Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
Tangents ("we", "the app") is operated by bysam.fun. We designed Tangents to work without an account. This policy explains what data the app and website handle.
What we collect
- On your device: Your exploration paths, stats, and preferences are stored locally on your iPhone. We do not sync this to our servers.
- When you share: If you create a share link, we store an anonymous copy of your branch tree (Wikipedia article titles only) so others can view or fork it. No name, email, or device ID is attached.
- Website/API logs: Our host (Vercel) may retain standard request logs (IP address, user agent) for security and debugging, typically for a short retention period.
What we do not collect
- No account registration or login
- No advertising identifiers
- No sale of personal data
Third parties
The app fetches Wikipedia articles directly from Wikimedia servers. Wikipedia's privacy policy applies to those requests. We use Supabase for database storage and Vercel for hosting.
Your choices
You can clear all local data in Settings. Share links remain public until we implement expiry (not currently offered). You can disable daily notifications at any time in Settings.
